Santiago Day Trip
Description
Discover a historic village in Nuevo León and its scenic surroundings with this journey to the 'Magical Town' of Santiago, departing from Monterrey.
Trip Overview
At your preferred time, we will collect you from your hotel in Monterrey and set out towards Santiago, recognized as one of Mexico’s celebrated Pueblos Mágicos.
Our adventure begins with a stop on the outskirts of the municipality to appreciate two famous waterfalls: Puente de la Cruz and Velo de Novia. The latter, known as 'Bridal Veil' in English, features a stunning drop of 50 meters and its unique shape accounts for its name. Following this natural spectacle, we will proceed to a viewpoint of Sierra Madre Occidental and Sierra de la Silla, where breathtaking vistas of the surrounding pine, oak, and mesquite forests await.
Next, we will visit the renowned Presa La Boca dam and the picturesque Cola de Caballo waterfall, which cascades down from 25 meters. You will be afforded some free time to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area. If desired, you can enjoy a catamaran excursion, try kayaking, take a quad tour, or embark on a horseback ride.
After this, we will proceed to the Los Cavazos workshop, a place where you can appreciate exclusive craftsmanship pieces, followed by an hour of leisure time to explore the area at your pace.
Upon reaching the town of Santiago, we will embark on a guided tour of the historic center. As we stroll through Plaza Ocampo, you will encounter the baroque church of Santiago Apostle and take in the remnants of the town’s ancient aqueduct.
After nearly 7 hours of exploration through Santiago and its natural beauty, we will transport you back to your hotel in Monterrey.
