Vineyard & Winery Tour of Camargue

Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at Rue Rhodes, 2, in Montpellier, and from this central point, we'll make our way east.

After a 1-hour drive, we'll reach the Camargue, characterized by its grapes grown in sandy areas and salt flats. The uniqueness of these vineyards results in wines of extraordinary quality.

Our first stop will be at a vineyard in the Camargue, varying depending on availability. We'll learn about the types of grapes cultivated in the area and how the land's geology influences the vine stocks, as well as the best planting seasons based on the Mediterranean climate.

We'll conclude this visit with a delicious picnic in the vineyard, which includes a selection of cheeses, cured meats, and fruit from the Camargue.

After the picnic, we'll go to a winery in the area of the salt marshes in Aigues-Mortes, where we'll witness the entire process of producing red, white, and rosé wines from the Camargue.

At the end of our visit, we'll have a tasting of 3 wines from the AOP Sable de Camargue, one of the main designations of origin in Provence. We'll learn to distinguish the different varieties based on their colour, aroma, flavours, and nuances.

After this tasting, we'll begin our journey back to Montpellier, where the tour will conclude after a total of 5 hours.
