Montreal Free Tour
Description
Are you ready to discover the largest city in Quebec? Join us on this complimentary walking tour of Montreal, where we'll stroll through the enchanting historic downtown, highlighted by iconic landmarks such as the Notre-Dame Basilica and the Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral.
Tour Details
We'll kick off our complimentary tour of Montreal at Dorchester Square at the scheduled time. Prepare to uncover the treasures of Quebec’s largest city, situated in eastern Canada, where French influences create a unique blend of North American and European architectural styles and cultural experiences.
Our first stop will be the Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral. While we admire its stunning façade, you might notice its architectural resemblance to St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican—the Canadian version showcases a distinct turquoise dome.
Next, we will wander through the charming streets of Old Montreal, a historic district along the St. Lawrence River that dates back to the 17th century. At the heart of this area, Place d'Armes offers a picturesque setting with the neo-Gothic architecture of the Notre-Dame Basilica standing as a focal point.
As we continue our exploration, we’ll reach Place Jacques-Cartier. This spacious square features Nelson's Column, a monument erected in 1809, just a few years following the death of the British admiral during the renowned Battle of Trafalgar.
Close by, you’ll find the tranquil Champ de Mars, one of the most celebrated parks in Montreal, adjacent to the striking Lucien-Saulnier building, which once served as the Palais de Justice.
After an immersive 3-hour experience, we'll conclude our tour back at the starting point.
