Sergiyev Posad Day Trip

On this day trip to Sergiyev Posad, we'll visit the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius monastery, located 70 km (43 mi) from Moscow.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance to the Cosmos Hotel in Moscow, next to the Charles de Gaulle Monument. We will travel by minibus to the town of Sergiyev Posad, arriving in approximately 1 hour.

After a panoramic view of this Orthodox spiritual centre, we will visit the village's craft market, where you can purchase typical products such as matryoshka dolls.

We will visit the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius monastery, a significant religious complex declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The blue domes of the Cathedral of the Assumption will be highlighted, along with the Orthodox art in the Krasnogorskaya Chapel and the Church of St. Sergius.

Other highlights include the Bell Tower of Sergiyev Posad, rising to a height of 88 m (288 ft).

Finally, we will return to Moscow, enjoying the landscapes of the Golden Ring during the trip, and conclude this 5-hour tour at the starting point.
