Neuschwanstein Castle & Linderhof Palace Day Trip
Description
Unveil the intriguing tales, myths, and legends that reside within the walls of the Mad King's Palace, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site that provided inspiration to Walt Disney, through this excursion to Neuschwanstein Castle from Munich.
Tour Overview
At the scheduled departure time, we'll gather at Sonnenstraße 1 in Munich, from where we will travel southward into the beautiful Bavarian landscape aboard a comfortable bus. Throughout the two-hour journey, our knowledgeable guide will share captivating insights about the area.
Our first destination will be the Schloss Linderhof, the most petite of the Bavarian castles. Here, participants can choose to partake in a guided tour of the castle, enjoy a leisurely walk around the scenic gardens, or sip on tea or coffee while taking in the stunning surroundings.
Next, we will proceed to Hohenschwangau, where you will have ample opportunity to grab a meal in a local restaurant before visiting the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle.
During our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, we will also have the chance to view the nearby Hohenschwangau Castle. Although less famous than its counterpart, it boasts its own unique beauty and was once the childhood residence of Ludwig II of Bavaria, the visionary behind Neuschwanstein. We will delve into the life of this historical figure, famously dubbed the Mad King, as we take in the enchanting castle that inspired Disney’s fairytale creation.
On the day of the tour, participants will have the option to explore the interiors of Neuschwanstein Castle. While entry tickets are not included, you will enjoy the advantage of skipping the lines. The castle is accessible via a short uphill walk from the parking area, with the additional option of reaching it by horse-drawn carriage or bus.
After an enriching 10.5 hours of exploring German heritage and architecture, we will return to Munich, where the tour will conclude.
