Private Hike to Wakan + Nakhal Hot Springs

On this day trip, you'll embark on a hiking route from Wadi Mistal to the village of Wakan and have time to relax in the Nakhal hot springs.

Activity Details

After picking you up at the designated time at your hotel or the Muscat cruise port, we'll set off to the mountainous heart of Oman.

For approximately 30 minutes, we'll cross winding trails among steep plateaus while the Hajar Mountains tower over the landscape.

We'll reach the valley of Wadi Mistal, where we'll leave our vehicle and tie up our shoes to start a 2-hour hiking route toward the village of Wakan, where we'll climb up 700 stairs.

Once there, we'll spend 2 hours exploring this haven located 6,561 ft (2,000 m) above sea level. We'll walk among orchards of apricots, grapes, and pomegranates, and see the ancient water channels of the Aflaj Irrigation Systems of Oman, a hydraulic system in arid regions.

After exploring, we'll enjoy a lunch at a restaurant in the village, then we'll travel for 45 minutes to Nakhal.

Here, among date palms, we'll find the Nakhal hot springs, where you'll have 1 hour of free time to relax in its warm mineral waters, which emerge from the heart of the mountain. Time to unwind!

Finally, we'll start our journey back to Muscat, where we'll say our goodbyes by dropping you off at your hotel or the port after 8 hours.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You will be picked up from your hotel or the Muscat cruise port at the designated time. The trip starts with a scenic drive through the mountains of Oman, taking approximately 30 minutes. During the hike, you'll traverse winding trails for about 2 hours towards the village of Wakan, which includes a climb of 700 stairs.
