Caminito del Rey Day Trip
Description
In this day excursion to the Caminito del Rey, immerse yourself in one of the most notable tourist spots in Malaga province. The natural beauty of this gorge will captivate you!
Details of the Day Trip
We'll gather at the designated meeting point in the city of Malaga at the specified time. From there, we will head towards one of the province's stunning gorges. Are you prepared to explore the breathtaking scenery of the Caminito del Rey?
Our route will take us across the Alcaparaín mountain range, offering views of vast orange orchards and charming Andalusian whitewashed villages. Before we embark on our journey, we'll pause at a scenic location along the way. This will provide an excellent opportunity to stretch your legs or enjoy a light snack.
Following this, we will embark on a hike along the Caminito del Rey, beginning from the northern access in Ardales. As we hike, we will encounter a remarkable footbridge—did you know it was inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII back in 1925? Along the trail, we will also take in views of the Guadalhorce reservoir and descend the iconic staircase of the Caminito del Rey.
Additionally, we will gradually uncover the unique geology, wildlife, and stunning vistas that envelop us. The footbridge, which hangs nearly 105 m (344 ft) above the Gaitanes Gorge, will grant us spectacular panoramic views of the Sierra de Málaga. Don’t miss the chance to capture some memorable photographs! We will also stop at key viewpoints for more photo opportunities and to share intriguing information about the area.
Once we've savored the experience at Caminito del Rey, we will bid farewell to this enchanting site and begin our return to the original meeting point, wrapping up a day trip that lasts approximately 7 to 8 hours.
