Acanceh ATV Tour
Description
Join this offroading adventure in Acanceh as we set off from Merida to uncover the unique beauty of a town celebrated for its remarkable Maya archaeological sites. Let's ignite our engines!
Available Tours
You'll have the choice between two exhilarating options for this quad experience in Acanceh. Both include transportation, an English-speaking guide, rental of the vehicle and helmet, along with bottled water. Below, discover the distinctions in the itineraries:
Half-Day Adventure (4.5 hours)
We will meet at Santa Ana Park at the scheduled time to begin a half-hour journey to Acanceh. Are you ready for an exhilarating ride?
The adventure begins with a short introduction on ATV operation and the trail. Once prepared, we will take off from the Plaza de las Tres Culturas toward the magnificent Acanceh Ruins.
Upon arrival, we will take a moment to admire the exterior of the famed Temple of the Masks, noted for housing the best-preserved masks in Yucatan. These five artifacts adorned the Acanceh Pyramid, and we will provide fascinating insights about them.
The ATV journey proceeds as we explore the Palace of the Stuccoes and visit the Observatory. Next, we will navigate a dirt path that leads to a historic hacienda, where you will learn about the local community’s lifestyles.
As our journey comes to an end, we will return to the heart of Acanceh and proceed back to Merida.
Evening Tour (5.5 hours)
If you have more time and wish to experience Acanceh at twilight, the evening tour offers an ideal experience!
This itinerary mirrors the daytime excursion but adds the charm of the setting sun. After visiting the hacienda, we will journey to a nearby community to enjoy a sumptuous dinner, where you can witness the cooking process firsthand!
The meal features a traditional Yucatecan dish crafted from corn, tomato, and cheese. With the flavors lingering, we will return to Acanceh before heading back to Mérida.
