At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Mérida to kickstart this cultural journey. Are you prepared to take part in one of Mexico's most significant celebrations? Let’s get started!

Our journey begins at a vibrant cemetery, where the ornately decorated graves and offerings exhibit the profound reverence the locals show towards their ancestors. Following this, we will proceed to a picturesque Mayan village, where the Day of the Dead festivities are expressed through a variety of traditional practices. You will discover the art of Mayan body painting and its significance, as we honor those who have passed with meaningful designs. Are you excited to experiment with this ancient technique?

Our next destination will be a sacred cenote, an enchanting site where the Maya people ceremonially present offerings to honor the deceased, termed Hanal Pixan. Here, alongside a shaman, we will receive a blessing and explore the rich Maya tales and beliefs surrounding life and death, promising an emotionally stirring and spiritually enriching experience!

To round off this adventure, you will partake in a delightful buffet featuring a variety of traditional cuisines. Additionally, indulge in a tequila tasting featuring various flavors and sample an array of local treats, including pan de muerto and the customary pib, which is exclusively created during this season. Savory cochinita tacos served with handmade tortillas will also be part of this irresistible feast!

The celebration continues with live performances at the restaurant, along with an entertaining catrinas contest. You will also have some leisure time to wander through the tianguis and explore the region’s artisanal crafts.

At the end of this 9-hour magical journey, we will return to Mérida, where we will conclude the day by dropping you off at your hotel.
