Historic District Exploration (2 Hours)
We will gather at Pasaje Pichetas to commence our journey along the avenues surrounding the Zócalo. Throughout this walk, we will share intriguing insights regarding Mérida, known as "The White City", established in 1542 by Francisco de Montejo. You'll surely appreciate the beautiful colonial architecture that defines the historic core!
Our route will lead us to the Zócalo, the heart of the city and a popular gathering spot for locals. Here you can admire the impressive Mérida Cathedral, recognized as the first basilica to be completed in mainland Americas and a significant emblem of the city.
As we wrap up our exploration of the historic district, we will visit the Museo Casa Montejo, a cultural spot worth seeing. We'll pause to appreciate the exterior of this structure, which was erected between 1542 and 1549 by the area's conquistadors.

Paseo de Montejo Exploration (2 Hours)
Meeting at the Monument to the Fatherland, we will initiate our exploration of Mérida's Paseo de Montejo at the designated time.
Alongside this striking monument, we will review key events in the history of Mexico and the Yucatán, and then proceed to stroll along Paseo de Montejo, adorned with French-inspired mansions.
As we continue, we will encounter grand structures that evoke a sense of nostalgia, such as the Italian-style Casa Peón de Regil, noted for its beautifully carved stone exterior, and the elegant Casa Vales—both true architectural masterpieces! Our path will take us to the intersection with Calle 33 and the Quinta Montes Molina, a house museum showcasing original furnishings from 1915.
Our journey continues northward to admire the Casas Gemelas, showcasing distinct French architectural influences with intricately designed balconies and doorways.
Concluding our tour, we will visit the Regional Museum of Anthropology, housed within the Cantón Palace, a structure renowned for its eclectic architectural style that blends Baroque and neoclassical elements.
