Description

Embark on a captivating guided exploration of the National Museum of Capodimonte, where remarkable art collections reside within a former royal residence. Experience the enchanting beauty of the gardens that surround this cultural haven nestled in the heart of Naples.

Tour Overview

The journey kicks off at the Porta Grande (Big Gate) of the National Museum of Capodimonte. This splendid Royal Palace of Capodimonte, once a Bourbon residence, is today home to one of the premier museums in Italy. Prepare yourself for an enlightening venture that traverses the annals of art history!

As we step onto the first floor, we will be captivated by the renowned Farnese Collection, showcasing masterpieces from iconic creators such as Titian, Raphael, Botticelli, and El Greco. This level also features a look into the former royal living quarters that will immerse you in the world of the House of Bourbon, along with the Armory and the elegant Porcelain Room.

Next, on the second floor, the Neapolitan Gallery  awaits. Here, marvel at the intricate details of Caravaggio's dramatic Flagellation of Christ and delve into the rich tapestry of Neapolitan art through works by Ribera and Luca Giordano.

Upon completing our museum tour, we will spend approximately 30 minutes wandering through the expansive Real Bosco di Capodimonte, the lush park enveloping the palace. Once a royal hunting ground and now accessible to the public, this serene sanctuary features tree-lined paths, picturesque gardens, and varied flora. Keep an eye out for some of the peacocks that call this park home—an ideal opportunity for a memorable photograph!

Our guided visit will conclude at the entrance of the Museum of Capodimonte after a duration of 2.5 hours.
