Your adventure begins at a designated time in Piazza San Gaetano, where we will initiate an insightful journey into the subterranean depths of this district in Naples. Prepare yourself for a captivating journey back in time!
Once we gather, an experienced guide will lead us into the hidden realms of Naples. Beneath the busy square, we will unearth a world situated as deep as 40 metres (131 feet).
Throughout this excursion into the Neapolitan underground, we will unveil historical secrets dating back 2400 years. You will be amazed! Our path will take us through ancient remnants, from a Greco-Roman aqueduct to the vestiges of a Roman theatre.
This time-travel experience will also guide us through tunnels that served as air-raid shelters during the First World War. We will even encounter caves repurposed into water cisterns in the 4th century, which continue to function today. Consider the extraordinary civil engineering achievements that have supported the city for 5000 years!
After approximately 1.5 hours, our tour of the underground area of Piazza San Gaetano will conclude, bringing us back to the surface.
Operational Hours
The subway at San Gaetano Square is available from 10 am to 6 pm, with guided tours departing every hour from 12 pm to 2 pm. On tour day, please arrive at Piazza San Gaetano at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled visit time.

Important information
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the indicated time at Piazza San Gaetano, 68 (Piazza San Gaetano, 68, 80138 Napoli NA, Italy), specifically, at the entrance to Napoli Sotterranea, located in the alley where the pizzeria "I Decumani" is on the corner.
The San Gaetano Square subway is open from 10 am to 6 pm, with guided tours every hour. On the day of the tour, you'll have to be at Piazza San Gaetano 30 minutes before the time you want to visit.
