Located at Ground Zero, the 9/11 memorial serves as an open space dedicated to honoring all those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks in 2001. It symbolizes survival, rebirth, and remembrance of the victims.
This site is where the Twin Towers once stood, now replaced by two large fountains inscribed with the names of over 3,000 victims of the attack.
During your visit to the memorial, you can walk among the 300 oak trees that provide a sense of peace and tranquility, in addition to viewing the renowned 'survivor tree'. Experiencing the emotions surrounding the 9/11 memorial is essential for any visitor to New York.
September 11th Museum
This impactful museum features a collection of more than 10,000 items related to the September 11th attacks. The exhibition includes testimonies from survivors, photographs, artifacts, and materials recovered from the debris.
This museum aims to honor the victims of this tragedy. In the auditorium on the second floor, you can view interviews, reports, and images from that day, starting from the hijacking of the planes to the stories of survivors and their memories years afterward.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You will visit both the 9/11 Memorial and the Museum as part of the experience. Visitors are encouraged to take their time at the Memorial to reflect and pay respects.
