Description

Experience the enchantment of The Lion King Musical, acknowledged as one of the most remarkable productions in musical theatre. Enhanced by impressive staging and a soundtrack by Elton John, The Lion King stands out as a stunning offering on Broadway.

Performance Overview

The narrative unfolds with the birth of young Simba, whose evil uncle Scar, intent on seizing the throne, plots against Simba and his father, King Mufasa. Although Simba escapes the treachery, Scar manipulates him into believing he is responsible for his father's demise, leading Simba to flee. However, upon returning years later, he discovers the desolation of the savannah caused by Scar’s reign and resolves to reclaim his rightful place and confront his uncle.

This musical draws inspiration from the Oscar-winning 1994 Disney animated feature of the same name. Regarded by many as the premier musical on Broadway, it has attained six Tony Awards as well as an Evening Standard Award. Since 1997, it has dominated sales in New York theatres. The New York Times aptly describes it as “there is simply nothing quite like it.”

Show Schedule

With performances held eight times each week, The Lion King remains the most sought-after musical on Broadway, often leading to swift ticket sales. If your visit to the Big Apple coincides with peak seasons, such as summer or Christmas, it is advisable to secure your tickets two months in advance.
