We will begin our adventure at the specified time, gathering beneath the famous clock located in the Main Concourse of Grand Central Terminal. This iconic setting marks the start of our exploration of Grand Central, the Chrysler Building, and the UN headquarters.
Our first stop will be at Vanderbilt Avenue and 42nd Street, where we'll observe the statues of Cornelius Vanderbilt and Mercury. Here, you'll gain insights into the Vanderbilt family's significant role in the establishment of the city’s central railroad network. As we continue, you'll learn about how Grand Central influenced Midtown's development before pausing at the Park Avenue Viewpoint to capture breathtaking photos of Park Avenue and the skyline of Midtown.
Next, we will visit the Chrysler Building, celebrated as one of the most exquisite Art Deco skyscrapers worldwide. Our guide will share the captivating tale of the fierce competition to construct the tallest building in the city. The journey will lead us to Tudor City, a charming residential area that offers stunning views of the skyline while showcasing the classic appeal of New York.
Continuing onward, we will stop outside the UN headquarters to explore the reasons behind its selection of New York as its base and the organization's worldwide significance. Additionally, we will look into UNICEF's mission to support children around the globe and delve into the humanitarian efforts of Audrey Hepburn and her profound ties to the city.
Our next point of interest will be 48th Street, where you will encounter the intriguing "Good Defeats Evil" statue depicting St. George slaying the dragon, bursting with symbolism and history. This striking sculpture is one of Midtown’s unexpected treasures! We will also discuss Stephen Sondheim, the iconic Broadway composer known for West Side Story and numerous other timeless productions.
As our tour approaches its conclusion, we will visit the 9/11 Memorial Mural, a poignant public artwork that honors the victims of September 11 and celebrates the resilience of New Yorkers. After two enriching hours, our guided journey will conclude in front of the famed Waldorf Astoria hotel, a landmark that has hosted many notable figures and celebrities throughout history.

On the day of the activity, the guide will be waiting for you at the Grand Central Terminal, near the main clock, located at 89 E 42nd St, New York, NY 10017.
