Washington DC & Philadelphia Day Trip
Description
Explore the rich history of Washington DC and Philadelphia in a single day with this unique tour departing from New York. You will have the opportunity to witness some of the most significant landmarks in the United States.
Day Trip to Washington DC & Philadelphia
Our adventure begins at 5 am, where we'll gather outside the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square. From there, you will board a spacious, air-conditioned bus that will transport you to the heart of the nation's capital. Following a 5-hour journey, including a brief stop to grab a quick breakfast or take a short break, we will arrive in Washington DC and embark on our day tour to discover the city's most famous attractions.
The first stop on our itinerary is the Iwo Jima Memorial, a globally recognized statue. After marveling at the depiction of soldiers raising the American flag, we will move on to the Abraham Lincoln Memorial, honoring the president who fought for the abolition of slavery. We will also visit the monuments dedicated to the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Next, we will admire the White House from the outside while our knowledgeable guide shares insights about its rich history and significance. Following our visit to the presidential residence, we will proceed to the Capitol, the focal point of legislative activities that shape policies influencing the world.
After exploring these key sites, you’ll enjoy an hour of free time for lunch at a restaurant of your choice. Once we regroup, we will head back to our bus for the journey to the original capital of the United States—Philadelphia, a city whose historical importance resonates throughout.
In Philadelphia, our exploration will begin with a view of two notable landmarks: the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were signed. Next, we will visit the iconic Rocky's Stairs, located at the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Test your stamina by climbing the 72 steps, emulating the famous scene from the film.
We will commence our return journey to New York at 6:30 pm, arriving back in Times Square around 8:30 pm.
