Rio Nuevo Bamboo Raft Ride
Description
Experience a scenic bamboo raft journey on the Rio Nuevo, immersing yourself in one of the most beautiful natural environments of Jamaica, set among the hills of St. Mary Parish.
Activity Overview
At the scheduled time, transportation will be provided from your Ocho Ríos hotel to the picturesque Rio Nuevo area, where a tranquil bamboo rafting experience awaits you. Prepare for a memorable adventure.
Originally, these rafts served the purpose of moving goods between communities, but today they stand out as an essential experience for those exploring Jamaica.
As you navigate the clear waters of the Rio Nuevo, a gentle stream descending from the hills of St. Mary Parish, you will be surrounded by the island's lush natural beauty, featuring flora and fauna along the riverbanks.
During this hour-long journey, you will also witness everyday life along the riverbanks, with locals washing clothes and cars, and children enjoying the cool water.
Towards the end of the excursion, we will pause at a artisan souvenir shop beside the river, where you can take an hour to find a memento of this special outing, should you wish.
Concluding our adventure, we will embark on the trip back to the starting location, wrapping up your experience with a total duration of 3 hours.
