Our journey begins at 9:15 am, where we'll gather next to the Oropesa del Mar Tourist Office. A minibus will be prepared to transport us to Peñíscola.

In just 40 minutes, we'll reach this stunning town along the Costa del Azahar. Are you ready to explore Peñíscola? The guided tour will include a stroll through its renowned landmarks while we delve into the influences of Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, and Arabs throughout its history.

From the historic artillery park, we'll enjoy views of Peñíscola's northern beach and the castle of Pope Luna. After capturing some photos of its stunning exterior, we’ll venture inside this stronghold. It is fascinating to learn about how a bishop exiled here chose to sever ties with papal authority. This narrative leads us to explore the complexities of the Western Schism, a significant moment in the history of the Catholic Church.

The itinerary will also guide us past other notable architectural landmarks, including the Casa de las Conchas and the 13th-century Church of Santa Maria.

Our next highlight will be the Bufador, a natural opening amidst the rocks and sea that emits a curious howling sound. Legends describe this noise as a deterrent to many attackers intent on seizing Peñíscola throughout its tumultuous past.

Our final destination will be the Museum of the Sea. Here, photographs, illustrations, antique engravings, fishing gear, and various artifacts provide insights into the seafaring heritage of this charming town.

After concluding our visit to the museum, we’ll prepare to bid farewell to Peñíscola. Our minibus will take us back, and we expect to arrive at our starting point in Oropesa del Mar by 1:45 pm.
