His aspiration to resurrect the essence of the Middle Ages led to expert Bodo Ebhardt overseeing the restoration. Today, the castle is more than a mere historical site; it serves as an educational resource, attracting over half a million visitors annually.

Hours of Operation
The Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle is accessible during the following hours:
- January, February, and March: 9:30 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm
- April, May, June, September, and October: 9:30 am to 6 pm
- November and December: 9:30 am to 5 pm
- July and August: 9 am to 7 pm
Final admission is granted one hour before the closure of the castle.
It’s important to note that the castle opens at 10:30 am on Mondays throughout the year.
Complimentary Admission
On the first Sunday of each month from November to March, as well as during European Heritage Days, entry is free for everyone.

Important information
On the day of the activity, make your way to the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg located at 67600 Orschwiller, France. This voucher allows you direct access to ticket control, there's no need to go to the ticket office.
Getting There
- By Car: you can access the castle via the following roads and motorways: Motorway A35, exit 17 via Kintzheim or 18 via Saint-Hippolyte. N59 via Lièpvre. The car park is free.
- Shuttle bus: there is a shuttle bus to Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg that departs from the SNCF railway station of Sélestat. For schedules and prices, visit this link.

Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle is open at the following times:
