2-Day Private Desert Tour
Day 1
Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Ouarzazate, setting off towards Tinghir, a gem nestled within a stunning Southern Moroccan oasis. The route features the renowned Route of the Thousand Kasbahs, characterized by its ancient fortresses, alongside a visit to the enchanting Valley of Roses and the captivating Dadès Valley. Pause here to explore the Dadès Gorges, where you’ll take in the impressive geological wonders such as the Monkey Fingers Canyon and Todra Gorge.
Continuing your journey, navigate toward the town of Merzouga, passing through flourishing palm groves renowned for their exquisite dates, and stop for lunch prior to reaching Erfoud, a quaint oasis town famous for its fossil findings.
Upon your arrival in Merzouga, disembark from your comfortable vehicle to fully immerse in the desert ambiance by riding a camel across the mesmerizing dunes, leading you to a traditional Amazigh tent, known as a haima, where you’ll spend the night.
As night falls, indulge in a delicious Moroccan dinner under the starlit sky, surrounded by the serene expanse of sand, before settling in for a restful night.
Day 2
Awaken early for a memorable camel ride to witness a stunning sunrise over Erg Chebbi, widely recognized as one of the most breathtaking sites in the Merzouga desert. Rising with the sun will prove to be a rewarding experience!
After reveling in the beauty of the dawn, return to the camp to freshen up and enjoy breakfast before embarking on the next leg of your desert exploration. This day leads you to the Tafilalet Palm Grove, located near the historic settlement of Rissani, the origin of Morocco's current royal family, the Alaouite dynasty. From here, continue towards Alnif and journey through the majestic Anti-Atlas Mountains.
As you navigate towards the Amazigh communities of Tazarine and N'kob, marvel at the stunning views encompassing the surrounding peaks, the lush Draa Valley, and scenic palm groves. Cross the renowned Tizi N'Tnifift mountain pass, standing at an elevation of over 3,800 feet (1660 m), and arrive back in Ouarzazate around 5 pm.
