Ouro Preto Hiking Expedition

Your journey begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel at an arranged time, as we leave the charming streets of Ouro Preto behind to head towards the base of Pico do Itacolomi, located at the border of Ouro Preto and Mariana.

Prior to starting the 14 km (8.7 mi) trek, we will make a stop at the Fazenda do Manso, an 18th-century estate reflecting the rich history of the bandeirantes. You will appreciate the colonial design that dates back to the era of these explorers, who navigated the vast interior of the Americas during the colonial period.

Fully engaged in our adventure, it’s time to begin our ascent to Pico do Itacolomi, which rises majestically at 1772 meters (3,845 feet). Expect to be mesmerized by the breathtaking views that accompany you throughout this remarkable hike.

As we traverse the enchanting terrains of Itacolomi, we will take a much-needed break, giving you the chance to replenish your energy. Once you feel refreshed, we will head back to the Fazenda do Manso. For those looking to unwind further, a nearby lagoon is available for a rejuvenating swim.

As our eight-hour excursion concludes, we will ensure your safe return to your hotel in Ouro Preto.
