Hiking Experience in Ouro Preto

Your journey begins with a pickup from 126 Barão de Camargos Street, followed by a trip to the base of Pico do Itacolomi, which is situated on the border of Ouro Preto and Mariana.

Prior to setting off on the 14 km (8.7 mi) hike, we will make a brief stop at the enchanting Fazenda do Manso, a remarkable 18th-century Casa Bandeirista. Here, you can appreciate the colonial architecture reminiscent of the bandeirantes, who were the daring explorers of the Portuguese empire setting forth into the Americas.

Fully engaged in the exploration, we'll begin our ascent towards Pico do Itacolomi, which rises majestically to 1,772 meters (5,845 feet). During the hike, prepare to be amazed by the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you.

After experiencing the remarkable terrains of Itacolomi, we will take a restful break to recharge. Once energized, we’ll make our way back to Fazenda do Manso. If you're looking for a bit more leisure, a nearby lagoon offers opportunities for a refreshing swim.

At the end of this enriching eight-hour expedition, we'll return to the original meeting point in Ouro Preto.
