At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Ouro Preto, and together we'll board the jardineira for an engaging and lively exploration of the city. Prepare yourself for a genuine adventure!
The jardineira tour of Ouro Preto initiates at Largo de Coimbra, where the renowned São Francisco de Assis Church awaits. Here, we will delve into the stunning interior of this notable church to reveal its intricate designs. Following this visit, we will hop back into the jardineira and traverse through Praça Tiradentes, Rua São José, and Largo do Rosário, the site of the Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Homens Pretos Church.
As our exploration progresses, we will head towards the Ouro Preto train station, operational since 1888. The outing will include visits to the city's monumental sites, with stops at the Aleijadinho Museum, Basilica do Pilar, and the Church of Santa Efigênia. Throughout our journey, we will highlight the municipality's historical importance during the colonial era, showcased through its splendid religious architecture.
The jardineira will navigate the winding streets of Ouro Preto, offering views of the Bridge of Sighs and the Santa Rita Mine from this classic mode of transport, popular from the 1930s to the 1970s.
