Birdwatching and Kayaking Experience

After a 9 am pickup from your accommodation in Ovalle, we will embark on a scenic journey southwest.

After traveling for approximately one hour, we will reach the remarkable Limarí River wetlands, a designated Nature Sanctuary renowned for its rich biodiversity. This area is not only a biosphere reserve but also a prime stargazing spot, celebrated for its exceptionally clear skies. As soon as we arrive, the area's acclaim will be evident.

We will begin our adventure with a 1.5-hour trek through the nature reserve, focusing on spotting indigenous bird species. To assist in identifying them, we will use a birdwatching guidebook. Our hike will continue through the stunning scenery of the Caleta El Toro river inlet.

Following our exploration along the shore of the Limarí River, we will pause for a delightful locally made sandwich. Once we’re invigorated, we will transition into the kayak segment of our tour. During this 20-minute experience, you can unwind and take in the picturesque surroundings from the canoe, while the guide navigates the waters.

After enjoying the tranquil float, we will return to the river’s edge and travel back to Ovalle. We anticipate arriving at your hotel around 3 pm.
