Your adventure begins at 8 pm with a pickup from your hotel in Ovalle. After a brief 30-minute drive, we will arrive at the Las Tinajas archaeological site.

This remarkable site is situated only 4 km (2.4 miles) from Samo Alto, within the Río Hurtado commune. Here, you'll discover an array of ancient cave paintings and petroglyphs that are believed to belong to the Molle culture, a pre-Hispanic society established in this region of South America over 2,000 years ago. This environment offers an ideal backdrop for exploring the wonders of astronomy and engaging with this fascinating science.

The experience includes a leisurely 200-meter (656 ft) walk, divided into a two-hour session. The first hour will focus on stargazing, where we will utilize a high-quality telescope that enhances our view of the myriad stars illuminated against the pristine night sky.

In the second hour, you will participate in an astrophotography workshop, capturing stunning images of the celestial display. To conclude, we will indulge in a tasting session featuring local delicacies, including goat's cheese and wine among other traditional offerings, to replenish our energy.

Once we’ve enjoyed the local flavors, we’ll head back to your hotel in Ovalle, with an expected return around midnight.

Complimentary pickup is provided from hotels located in the heart of Ovalle. For guests staying in more distant locations, we will arrange a convenient pickup at the designated time at Plaza de Armas in the city.
