Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we will pick you up from the meeting point and head east to explore one of the most beautiful corners of Asturias: Covadonga. Journey to this iconic location in the Principality of Asturias by minibus, with a small group of no more than 8 participants.

Our first stop will be Ercina Lake, situated in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park. Traveling in a smaller vehicle allows us to access the lakes more easily, avoiding long walks. Enjoy stunning views from the Entrelagos viewpoint, a prime spot to gaze at the renowned lakes of Covadonga and the surrounding alpine scenery.

Next, we will visit the Holy Cave of Covadonga, home to the image of La Santina and the remains of Don Pelayo, the inaugural king of the Asturian monarchy. The breathtaking surroundings of the cave are sure to impress you!

After delving into the cave's history, the significant events connected to it, and the veneration of the Virgin of Covadonga for Asturians, we will proceed to the Basilica of Santa María la Real in Covadonga, a premier example of neo-Romanesque architecture in Spain.

To conclude this small-group excursion, we will visit Cangas de Onís. Here, you will have the opportunity to see the famous Roman bridge, followed by approximately 1 hour of free time to explore independently and enjoy lunch if desired.

We will return to the starting point, with an expected arrival time of 7 to 8 hours after departure.
