Embark on a day excursion to Cefalù from Palermo! Unveil the deep-rooted history, breathtaking landscapes, and Mediterranean allure of this coastal jewel in northern Sicily.

Day Trip Highlights

Acording to the established schedule, we will gather at the Palermo Centrale railway station. We will board a train bound for Cefalù, marking the beginning of our exploration.

Upon our arrival, a guided exploration of Cefalù awaits. During a 2.5-hour walking tour, we'll appreciate the exterior of the magnificent Cathedral of Cefalù, known for its striking Norman facade. Inside, the breathtaking Byzantine mosaics await discovery, with the Christ Pantokrator illuminated within a radiant halo, accompanied by the four Evangelists, truly a centerpiece of the cathedral.

From the heart of the town, we’ll take in the majestic presence of La Rocca, an expansive rock formation that towers over the landscape. You will then have 30 minutes of leisure time to explore the Museo Mandralisca at your convenience, where you can delve into local heritage through ancient artifacts, exquisite works of art, and captivating paintings.

As we wander through the historic district, we’ll pause at the Medieval Wash-House, a captivating relic that showcases daily life in bygone eras. Next, we will observe the Porta Pescara, one of the few medieval fortifications that have survived in Cefalù.

Before wrapping up the tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a meal at a local eatery of your choice.

You are welcome to remain as long as you wish in Cefalù. The guide will provide train tickets for your return to Palermo at a time that suits you.
