Exploring the historic district of the Sicilian capital via the sightseeing train presents one of the most enjoyable and efficient options. Choose from one of the seven available trains, each fitted with an audio guide in English, to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of a city shaped by diverse cultures and architectural influences.
Your ticket grants access for one full day, enabling you to hop on and off at your leisure. Step off to admire a monument, browse a market, or savor a coffee before boarding the next train at any given stop. The itinerary is entirely at your discretion!

The complete route takes approximately 1 hour, featuring essential stops at Palermo’s major attractions:
- Porta Nuova: adjacent to the stunning Royal Palace, often referred to as the Norman Palace
- Teatro Massimo: Italy’s grandest opera house
- Port of Palermo: serving as the entrance to the Tyrrhenian Sea and its port region
Throughout the ride, from the comfort of your seat, marvel at iconic landmarks including the Palace of Justice, lively Via Roma, Piazza San Domenico, and the renowned Vucciria Market.
The train traverses the city’s principal avenues, passing by Piazza Pretoria, Quattro Canti (Piazza Vigliena), the Central Station, the historic Ballarò Market, and the charming Porta Sant’Agata Square.

The train service runs daily throughout the year from 9 am to 4 pm, with departures roughly every 30 minutes. Keep in mind that to fully enjoy the tour, the last suggested boarding time is 3:30 pm.
There’s no need to choose a starting hour; simply present your ticket before boarding either at Via Cavour 108 or at any of the designated stops.
