Palace of La Almudaina Tickets
Description
When visiting Palma, consider acquiring tickets to the Palace of La Almudaina, a site that has played a significant role in the history of Mallorca.
Why Explore the Palace of La Almudaina?
Positioned directly across from the Palma Cathedral, the Royal Palace of La Almudaina stands as one of the key historical landmarks within the capital of Mallorca.
By purchasing a ticket to La Almudaina, visitors can delve into this impressive architectural gem. While it serves as the official summer residence for the Spanish royal family, the monarchy typically prefers the Palace of Marivent in Palma during that season. Nonetheless, La Almudaina remains a venue for various royal functions, including the annual reception for Balearic high society representatives.
The palace was originally established as an ancient fortress by the Arabs and later repurposed by the Catholic monarchs as the seat for the Mallorcan royal family. Among its noteworthy features is the Gothic Hall, once used to host ambassadors.
Don't overlook the Patio of Honour or the vestiges of the Arab baths, which consist of rooms for hot, warm, and cold water. Additionally, La Almudaina contains the Chapel of Santa Ana, commissioned by King Jaime II in the 14th century.
