Activity Overview

As dawn breaks, our team will collect you from your hotel before heading toward the Taironaka area, the gateway to the Don Diego River, renowned for its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes.

After approximately an hour of travel, we will arrive at the river, where the lush forest will welcome us. Here, we will kick off an exhilarating four-hour hike upstream, leading us into the enchanting Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta  mountains.

This hiking trail promises to unveil the wonders nestled in this natural sanctuary. Remain vigilant, as you will have the opportunity to observe a remarkable variety of local bird species. Among the avian inhabitants, you might catch sight of scarlet macaws, Caribbean toucans, and sword-billed hummingbirds.

Upon concluding our hike, we will board a speedboat that will ferry us to a picturesque location along the riverbank. Surrounded by lush greenery, we will indulge in a delightful traditional Caribbean lunch, perfect for recharging our energy!

After a brief respite, our speedboat journey will continue as we navigate towards the river's mouth, where the waters of the Don Diego River flow into the expansive Caribbean Sea.

In conclusion, we will retrace our steps back to the departure point, marking the end of our 10-hour adventure as we bid farewell.
