Day Excursion to the Emberá Indigenous Village

We'll start our journey with a hotel pickup in Panama City, followed by a scenic hour-long drive to the Chagres River. Once we arrive at the Corotú port, we’ll step aboard a traditional canoe for a river journey.

As we glide along the river, the stunning natural surroundings will captivate us until we reach a stunning waterfall known as Quebrada Bonita, nestled deep within the jungle.

Next, we’ll visit a settlement of the Emberá Indigenous Peoples, where we can discover the unique traditions and history of a group that migrated from Colombia's ancestral territories in the 18th century.

The Emberá community will greet us with a traditional dance, followed by insightful stories about their enriching culture, schooling, and handicrafts. After gaining insight into their everyday life, we will enjoy a delightful meal featuring tilapia, patacones, and fresh fruit.

Post-lunch, another lively dancing show awaits – feel free to join in if you wish! Before returning to your hotel, there will be an opportunity to acquire some local handicrafts as unique mementos of your experience.
