Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Panama City. Once we're ready, we'll set off to the Panama Canal, one of the most admirable engineering feats on the American continent. Let's go!
After about 20 minutes, our first stop will be the Pedro Miguel locks, located in the Pacific Ocean area of the canal. Here, you'll witness how ships ascend and descend with pinpoint accuracy thanks to a system of gates that functions much as it did in its early days.
We'll continue by crossing the Soberanía National Park, where we might spot some local fauna. After a 1-hour journey, we'll reach the Agua Clara locks, a source of pride for the expansion of the Panama Canal, inaugurated in 2016 in the Caribbean area.
These imposing structures allow the passage of New Panamax ships, which can transport up to 15,000 containers. Here, we'll enjoy a 15-minute introductory video that reveals the secrets of the locks' construction and operation.
Our final stop will be at the Visitors Center of Gatun, where we'll admire the original locks, operational since 1914. Amid the sounds of engines, you'll grasp the magnitude of the dream that united two oceans.
We'll conclude our day by crossing the Atlantic Bridge, the tallest bridge of the Panama Canal, standing at 256 ft (75 m) tall, with stunning views of Gatun Lake spread out before us.
After the tour, we'll enjoy a snack before returning to your hotel, concluding our experience after approximately 5 hours.

Important: In the Old Town, pickups are only available at the Hotel Tantalo, located a 5-minute walk from the other hotels in the area. We'll send you an email confirming the exact time.
