Quartmaster's Apartments Hôtel de la Marine Tickets
Description
With access to the Hôtel de la Marine, you can explore a remarkable 18th-century palace situated at the central Place de la Concorde in Paris, which once served as the base for the French Navy.
Ticket Overview
Positioned in the iconic Place de la Concorde, this luxurious building represents a significant piece of 18th-century architecture in Paris.
Your admission to the Hôtel de la Marine grants you access to the apartments of the intendants, various lounges, and the loggia. An audio guide in English will lead you through the intendants' apartments, which are decorated with opulent lamps, elegant curtains, and ornate carpets from the Louis XV period.
As you continue, the lavish lounges and the breathtaking loggia will captivate your senses. Through the audio guide, you'll uncover the historical background of the Hôtel de la Marine, originally designed to accommodate the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne. Following the events of the French Revolution in 1789, the structure transitioned to the headquarters for the French Navy.
In 2015, the Ministry of the Navy relocated to a different site. Following a considerable renovation effort, the Hôtel de la Marine reopened to the public in 2021. This ticket allows you to witness the refurbishment of this magnificent palace, crafted by Ange-Jacques Gabriel, a prominent architect during the reign of Louis XV.
The audioguide experience lasts for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
