Situated approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Madrid, near the village of Pinilla de Buitrago, the Riosequillo reservoir is a favored recreational destination in the Lozoya valley. This reservoir, constructed in the 1950s, captures the waters of the Lozoya River and lies within the Sierra de Guadarrama Nature Reserve, a protected area renowned for its stunning biodiversity and picturesque views.
As you paddle through the tranquil waters, you will immerse yourself in the serene ambiance of the location. Watch for storks, kites, ducks, and various other bird species while navigating the reservoir, where the banks are also a habitat for ferrets that feast on the river's crabs.

Important information
On the day of the activity, you must go to the meeting point of the local provider, Aguas Tranquilas, at the Riosequillo reservoir (Pinilla de Buitrago), very close to Cerrada De Garay Hípica. We recommend you to arrive 10 minutes beforehand.
How to get to the meeting point
The best way to get there from Madrid is by the Burgos road (N-I) until km 69, where you must take the Rascafría-Lozoya detour. Continue along the M-604 road until you see a large stone bridge that crosses it. Just at this bridge there is a turn-off that says: Gargantilla/Navarredonda/Pinilla de Buitrago. Take it and go through the first village, which is Gargantilla. Continue in the direction of Pinilla de Buitrago, and when you get there you enter the village and cross it in a straight line until the end.
There, there are two paths. Take the one on the right, where you'll see the sign for Aguas Tranquilas. Follow this dirt road to the end and park right where the road ends. Walk down to the shore, about 500 metres, where the local provider is waiting for you with the kayaks ready for you.
Important
We remind you that you must be able to swim in order to participate. Also, don't forget your swimming costume, cap and sunscreen.
