Death in Paradise Filming Set Tour
Description
Embark on this guided exploration of the filming locations from Death in Paradise. You will visit various iconic spots on the island of Guadeloupe, featuring stunning beaches, charming homes, lush gardens, a vibrant port, and the notable police station in Pointe-à-Pitre.
Tour Overview
The adventure kicks off with your pickup at the cruise port in Pointe-à-Pitre. Once aboard our vehicle, we will journey east towards the Deshaies area of Guadeloupe, prepared to uncover the locations where the beloved French-British series Death in Paradise was filmed.
After approximately one hour of travel, we will arrive at Anse de la Perle Beach, home to the well-known inspector's house, which is recreated annually from May through September. This quaint beachfront bungalow serves as a tranquil setting for piecing together clues on screen.
Next, we’ll visit the botanical garden, Jardin Botanique de Deshaies. For around 60 minutes, we’ll explore ponds featuring water lilies and koi, along with an array of parrots among the lush trees, including the unique talipot palm. Along the way, you'll have the chance to feed some animals while learning how this garden has hosted numerous outdoor investigative scenes.
Continuing our journey, we’ll stop at the Port of Deshaies, portrayed as Port Honoré in the series, where memorable moments of character arrivals and departures by boat were captured. From this vantage point, enjoy breathtaking views of the bay as we head towards the town, where you can admire its charming white church.
Our next destination is the Honoré Police Station, the sole permanent set of the show, situated in a former parish hall. During the tour from December to April, the station opens for public viewing, allowing you a 20-minute visit. If you are visiting outside these months, feel free to take photos from outside the building.
In this vicinity, we’ll also visit the renowned Catherine's Bar. If availability permits, we will relish a delightful lunch here; otherwise, we’ll find an alternate local eatery for our meal.
After our culinary interlude, we will take a scenic drive along Grand Anse Beach. A brief stop will be made at a prime location for you to capture stunning photos of the Langley Resort Fort Royal, a favored filming spot for Death in Paradise, where the cast and crew often stayed.
Your experience concludes as we return to the cruise port, wrapping up an enriching 6.5 hours together.
