Tour Overview
At the scheduled hour, we will convene at 32 Via Roma to depart from Pompeii and kick off this excursion towards the Vesuvius National Park. Are you prepared for the adventure?
A bus will transport us to an elevation of 1,000 meters (3,280 ft) along the slopes of Vesuvius. As we journey, take in the stunning panoramic sights of the Italian landscape.
Once we disembark, you will have 1.5 hours of leisure to explore the crater. We suggest taking the roughly 20-minute hike to the summit. As you ascend, the audio guide in English will provide insights into the history and geological aspects of Vesuvius, enriching your understanding of this colossal natural marvel! The views awaiting you at the peak will be spectacular.
At the summit, you will be awed by the grandeur of this active volcano and its steaming fumaroles. From this extraordinary outlook, you can gaze upon the stunning Gulf of Naples and its islands, an awe-inspiring panorama.
After your exploration, the bus will be ready to transport you back to Pompeii, where we will arrive approximately 3 hours later.
Key Information
In the event that the Vesuvius National Park is inaccessible due to poor weather conditions, we will shift our visit to the excavations of Herculaneum.

On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the indicated time at the offices of Around Vesuvius, located at 32 Via Roma (Via Roma, 32, 80045 Pompei NA, Italy). Please be sure to arrive at least 20 minutes in advance.
Please note that you will not be able to leave large bags or suitcases on the bus.

Audio Guide
The audio guide is digital and compatible with all smartphones. On the day of the activity, at the meeting point, the provider will give you the tickets for Mount Vesuvius and the link to download the audio guide.

If the Vesuvius National Park is closed due to adverse weather conditions, we'll visit the excavations of Herculaneum.
