Embark on a one-day journey from Portland to the breathtaking landscapes of Mount Hood and Multnomah Falls, where stunning vistas await your discovery.

Activity Details

Are you ready to reach the highest elevation in Oregon? Join us as we explore some of the most stunning natural attractions just outside Portland. We will begin our adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Portland at a prearranged time, setting the stage for this excursion to Mount Hood and Multnomah Falls.

Once assembled, we will set off on a scenic half-hour drive to our first destination. During this trip, we will cross the Columbia River Gorge, taking in views of its dramatic cliffs and stopping at Casa Vista, a historic vantage point that showcases the charm of its period.

Our journey leads us to the stunning Multnomah Falls, boasting a remarkable drop of 189 meters (620 feet). Recognized as the tallest falls in Oregon, we will pause here for half an hour to explore the surroundings and take in the sights of the Benson Bridge amidst this enchanting scenery. Continuing onward, the Rowena Crest Viewpoint will grant us an opportunity to capture breathtaking panoramic views of the winding Columbia River for approximately 20 minutes.

Our next stop will be at Packer Bakery, where you will have 20 minutes to enjoy local delicacies before we proceed to Hood River. Here, we will discover the clear waters that nourish the area's valleys and agricultural communities during our one-hour visit. Interestingly, this river is fed by the glaciers on Mount Hood!

As we travel through the Mount Hood National Forest, we will meander through tree-lined paths, pass by Tamanawas Falls, and visit White River West Park, all framed by the majestic snow-capped peak in the distance. Our journey culminates at the iconic Timberline Lodge, situated over 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) above sea level, where we will spend half an hour learning about its history and admiring its Great Depression-era architecture, which has made it a famous destination for skiers across the United States. From this location, you can view the towering Mount Hood, Oregon's highest peak, still home to 12 glaciers. Quite remarkable, indeed!

In conclusion, we will head back to Portland, where we will conclude this 8.5-hour adventure and return you to your hotel.
