Details of the Day Trip

We will convene at Largo Actor Dias in Porto at the scheduled time, boarding our transport for a one-hour drive southward. As we proceed, you will have the opportunity to soak in the stunning Atlantic landscape, characterized by marshy areas, sandy dunes, and picturesque fishing villages.

Our first stop will be in Costa Nova for 30 minutes, where iconic striped houses await. These unique buildings, once utilized as storage and residences by fishermen, offer a fascinating glimpse into local architecture.

Next, we will venture to the historic center of Aveiro, affectionately known as the Venice of Portugal. Arriving at the quaint pier, we will embark on a 1-hour moliceiro boat excursion. As we glide through the canals, enjoy the blend of Modernist architecture and the stylish layout of the city.

Following our boat ride, we will hop back into the vehicle for another hour-long trip to Arouca, traversing a diverse landscape that shifts from coastal views to more rugged mountainous terrains.

Upon our arrival, we will take a well-deserved break for 1 hour and 15 minutes of a delightful traditional lunch, featuring two seasonal dishes highlighting both fish and meat.

With a fresh boost of energy, we’ll set off for an exhilarating experience on the renowned 516 Arouca suspension bridge. During our 1-hour visit here, stunning vistas over the Paiva River Valley provide a perfect backdrop for memorable photographs.

After experiencing the bridge, our adventure continues with a 1-hour trek along the Paiva Walkways. This picturesque path comprises wooden walkways that meander through a hillside adorned with gorges, rocks, and nearly untouched nature.

In conclusion, we will begin our return journey to Porto, concluding our day with a farewell at the starting point after a fulfilling 9-hour experience.
