Tour Details

At the agreed time, we'll meet in front of the Portuguese Centre of Photography to begin a walking tour of Porto's historic centre. Prepare to uncover the charms of the city along the Douro River.

Our first stop will be the Lello Bookshop, where we will explore the interior of this notable establishment. Is it true that this bookshop inspired J.K. Rowling for her vision of the Hogwarts library? After discovering its connections with the Harry Potter saga, we’ll continue our tour and admire the tiles of São Bento station, which depict various episodes in the history of Portugal.

Next, we’ll navigate to the Ribeira district and view the Dom Luís I Bridge as we cross the Douro River via the pedestrian area of this landmark. On the opposite bank lies Vila Nova de Gaia, where we will take a ride on its famous cable car. The cabins provide magnificent panoramic views of Porto.

After a five-minute ascent in the Gaia cable car, we will proceed to a local river dock to embark on a boat trip on the Douro River. During this journey, we will observe traditional wooden boats known as 'rabelos'.

While sailing, we'll pass by the Dom Luís I and Arrábida bridges, among other iconic structures that connect both banks of the Douro. The one-hour voyage will conclude at the dock located at number 4400, Avenida de Ramos Pinto.

At this final point in Vila Nova de Gaia, we will complete this extensive tour of Porto and its neighboring town, lasting a total of four hours.
