Description

Discover the fascinating history of the Villa Imperial with our complimentary walking tour of Potosí. Experience the charm of colonial streets, stunning squares, and iconic churches that narrate the rich past of this Bolivian city.

Complimentary Walking Tour of Potosí

We will convene at the designated time in front of the Casa de la Moneda, the National Mint of Bolivia, renowned as one of the country's landmark structures. Our journey will commence with an exploration of the exterior of this storied building, where we will delve into the significance of the foremost mint in the Americas during the viceroyalty era.

Following this, we will traverse the streets of the Villa Imperial, passing notable religious sites like the churches of San Lorenzo and San Bernardo. Most of these sacred structures were erected in the colonial epoch when the city flourished economically.

As we wander, you'll walk along the paths trodden by conquistadors and viceroys, including the Passage of Heroes and the Street of Caesars. Upon reaching La Paz Street, we will enter a delightful hotel that features a viewing platform offering breathtaking vistas of Potosí. After capturing memorable photos, we will proceed to the house of Francisco Rocha, the renowned coin forger of the city.

Our journey continues to the viewpoint of San Marcos, where we will find the remnants of the cárcamos, historical mills that played a crucial role in mineral processing. Our next stop will be the Church of San Francisco, a vital example of the city’s architectural heritage.

Concluding our tour, we will head to 10th November Square, where we will wrap up our complimentary walking tour of Potosí, bidding farewell after 2 hours of immersive exploration.
