Description
If you'd like to see all of Prague's most iconic sights in just one day, we've got it covered! On our Best of Prague Tour, you'll explore the city's old and new towns, admire its beautiful religious buildings and learn all about its fascinating history.
Description
Let's explore Prague! At 9:30 am we'll meet in Wenceslas Square, in Prague's New Town. We'll begin by giving you an introduction to the city's history while admiring the historic buildings around us, such as the National Museum.
Next, we'll cross to the Old Town to see Charles University, Theatre of Statement, Powder Tower, and Municipal House. We'll visit the House of the Black Madonna and take a break in the Grand Orient Cafe for snacks.
We'll then see the Basilica of St. James and navigate the Old Town's narrow streets to the Jewish Quarter, discussing Czech literary figure Franz Kafka.
Next, we'll walk down Pariska Street to the main synagogues, including the Spanish Synagogue and Old-New Synagogue, and visit the Jewish graveyard to share stories of this community.
Our next stop will be Old Town Square to see the Astronomical Clock, followed by the Church of Our Lady before Tyn, with discussions on the Second World War.
Afterwards, we'll take a tram across the Vltava River to Mala Strana and ride the funicular to view Petrin Tower and the cityscape. The guide will explain the area's history as we explore Strahov Monastery and St. Wenceslas' Vineyard. You'll have 1 hour of free time for lunch, with recommendations for traditional Czech dishes and beers.
We'll then visit the world's biggest medieval castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, Golden Lane, and the Presidential Palace before concluding the tour at the iconic Charles Bridge at 4:30 pm.
