At the scheduled time, we will convene at Hrad?anské nám?stí 2 (located in front of the Schwarzenberg palace), allowing us to bypass the morning crowds and take a brief journey to the castle. With our priority entry, we will start our exploration of this significant site in the city without delay!

No visit to Prague would be complete without a trip to the castle. This tour guides you through the largest ancient castle complex worldwide, beginning at St. Vitus Cathedral. This remarkable Gothic structure is the final resting place for numerous Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors.

Next, you will visit the historic Royal Palace, where stories of the infamous "defenestrations" (the act of being thrown from windows) arose, igniting the Thirty Years' War across Europe.

After exploring St. George’s Basilica, one of the few remaining Romanesque churches in Prague, the tour continues to Golden Lane, which has housed alchemists, goldsmiths, and various artisans throughout the ages, including the renowned writer Franz Kafka at one time.

Ultimately, our journey through this vital Prague attraction will conclude after approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

Temporary Closure of the Old Royal Palace

From September 4 to October 1, 2026 (inclusive), the old Royal Palace will be under renovation for the exhibition of the Czech Crown Jewels:

• September 4-17: The Old Royal Palace will be entirely closed. The guided tour will instead take visitors through the Royal Garden.
• September 18-28: The Old Royal Palace will be open as an exhibition area for the crown jewels, allowing us to continue with the standard itinerary.
• September 29-October 1: The Old Royal Palace will close again, and the tour will shift from the Old Royal Palace to the Royal Garden.

The total length of the tour and the admission charge will remain the same. The other monuments within the complex, including St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica, and Golden Lane, will remain accessible as usual.
