The Lobkowicz Palace
Situated in the Prague Castle complex, the Lobkowicz Palace was constructed in the 16th Century in a Renaissance style. After suffering a fire in 1541, it was rebuilt in a more austere Early Baroque style that visitors can appreciate today.
The family's fortunes shifted during the Second World War, when the palace was seized for the first time. Though it was returned to them after the war, the communist regime later confiscated all of their properties, including the palace.
In 2002, the property was returned to the Lobkowicz family. Following extensive reconstruction in 2007, the palace reopened its doors to the public, showcasing its rich history and esteemed collection.
