Experience the stunning landscapes of one of Cape Verde's remarkable islands during a day trip to São Vicente from Praia. This journey includes a visit to the vibrant city of Mindelo and the breathtaking natural beauty of Monte Verde Natural Park.

São Vicente Island Day Trip

Your adventure begins at 5 am with a pickup from your hotel in Praia, followed by a transfer to Santiago Island Airport. You will board your flight to São Vicente Island, which takes approximately one hour.

Upon arrival, we will greet you at the airport terminal to embark on a guided tour of São Vicente Island, the second most populous island in the Cape Verde archipelago. Our first stop will be in the capital city, Mindelo, where you will explore the main church, the bustling municipal market, and the birthplace of the renowned singer Cesária Évora. We’ll also visit Fortim do Rei to view the Belem Tower and learn about its historical connection to its counterpart in Lisbon.

Following our exploration of Mindelo, we will proceed to the Praia da Bote market, known for its fresh seafood, often sourced from the nearby Salamansa. From there, our journey continues to Gatas Bay, where you'll have the opportunity to capture stunning photographs of the dramatic sand dunes.

Next, we will make our way to Monte Verde Natural Park, a captivating area famous for its unique rock formations known as 'volcanic tuffs'. After soaking in the mesmerizing surroundings, we’ll return to Mindelo, where you will enjoy 30 minutes for lunch beside Laginha Beach.

In the late afternoon, we will take you to São Vicente Airport to ensure you catch your return flight on schedule. Upon landing back at Santiago Island, we will be there to transfer you back to your hotel in Praia, with an expected arrival time of 6 pm.

Flights between Praia and São Vicente

You are responsible for booking your own flight from RAI (Praia Airport on Santiago Island), departing at 7 am and arriving at VXE (São Vicente Airport) at 7:55 am. This service is provided by Binter.

For your return journey, you will also need to arrange the flight departing from VXE at 4 pm and landing at RAI at 4:55 pm. Binter operates this route as well.
