Tour Overview

We will convene at Avenida Julio Argentino Roca, where we'll provide instructions along with bikes and helmets before commencing this bike trip from Puerto Madryn to Punta Este. Let’s start our exploration!

The route begins on the coastal walkway, leading us through charming neighborhoods with stunning ocean views. Soon after, we will transition from asphalt to the Patagonian plateau, cycling along gravel paths that weave through resilient local vegetation such as alpatacos, coirones, and piquillines. These plants have adapted to thrive in the harsh conditions of wind, sunlight, and minimal rainfall, with some requiring only a few millimeters of precipitation annually.

Our first stop will be at Playa Paraná, where we’ll take a break by the sea for about an hour. There, you can see the Folías, a fishing boat that has remained stranded since 1980. As the tide recedes, its skeleton emerges, creating a haunting sight; many claim the winds around it carry whispers reminiscent of its former crew.

From May to December, with a stroke of luck, we might even catch sight of whales from the beach as cormorants and petrels glide across the sky above. We will continue our ride alongside impressive sandstone cliffs towards the heart of Punta Este, descending onto the beach to absorb the expansive views of the Golfo Nuevo before traversing the shifting dunes, which are teeming with various shorebird species.

After reveling in this experience, we will return to the starting point, concluding our 3-hour journey with heartfelt farewells.

Participation Conditions

The activity has a weight limit of 198 lbs (90 kg), and participants should feel confident riding a bicycle. This experience is not advisable for those with heart or neck concerns.
