Valdes Peninsula Day Trip + Whale Watching
Description
On this day trip to the Valdes Peninsula with whale watching, participants will experience an area rich in biodiversity, observing various cetaceans in their natural environment.
Valdes Peninsula Day Trip + Whale Watching
At the designated time, you will be picked up at your hotel in Puerto Madryn to embark on a journey to the Protected Natural Area of the Valdes Peninsula.
Upon arrival at the checkpoint, the entrance fee to the reserve will be collected, and we will proceed to the Carlos Ameghino isthmus interpretation center to learn about the unique fauna and flora of the region. The tour will then head to the town of Puerto Pirámides, where, if weather conditions permit, an unforgettable boat ride for whale watching will be available.
The next destination will be Caleta Valdés, where we may stop at three locations depending on the season. The first stop will be at the cove itself, where the sea's embrace creates a beautiful entrance to the Valdes Peninsula. The second stop will be at Punta Cantor, featuring two viewpoints to observe elephant seals and sea lions year-round. The third stop is at the penguin colony, where between September and April, visitors can see Magellanic penguins. If the weather is favorable, there is also a chance to spot killer whales here!
While enjoying views of native species such as guanacos, choiques, maras, hares, foxes, and armadillos, the trip will continue to Punta Norte. Observe a colony of elephant seals from September to December, and sea lions from December to May. Killer whales may also be spotted at Punta Norte if conditions are suitable.
The day will conclude with free time for lunch in the area before returning to Puerto Madryn, with an expected arrival at your hotel approximately 10 hours after pickup.
