Boat Excursion to the Marble Caves of Puerto Tranquilo

At your preferred time, we will embark from the Puerto Tranquilo dock to navigate the western region of the General Carrera Lake, renowned as one of the most picturesque locations in the Chilean Aysén area.

Our water journey commences along the shores of Puerto Tranquilo, where the marble caves await. From the boat, marvel at the striking interplay of grey and blue hues that characterize these lake caves. They are part of a vast protected zone that was officially recognized as a National Monument of Chile in 1994, classified as a Nature Sanctuary due to its remarkable environmental significance.

We will glide through 500 meters (1640 feet) of caves, allowing us to venture inside to examine the marble ceilings. Following this, we will proceed to the marble tunnel, where we will pause to appreciate this unique whitish calcium carbonate cavern.

Continuing our voyage on Lake General Carrera, we will head towards the islets featuring the cathedral and marble chapel of Puerto Tranquilo. These natural formations are prominent highlights of Aysén, and despite any number of photographs, nothing compares to witnessing them firsthand.

Ultimately, after an hour and a half of sailing, we will return to the departure pier to conclude our boat excursion.
