Tequila Day Trip + José Cuervo Distillery Tour

Embark on a day trip to the heart of Tequila, where you'll delve into the captivating agave landscape and witness firsthand the artistry behind Mexico's most renowned spirit. Your journey will take you to La Rojeña, the historic distillery established by José Cuervo, an emblem of both tradition and innovation.

Day Trip Overview

At your chosen time, we will collect you from the designated meeting point in Puerto Vallarta and embark on a scenic journey toward the lush valleys of Jalisco, famously recognized as the birthplace of tequila. After a drive of approximately three hours through picturesque mountain scenery, we'll reach the expansive agave fields, marking the start of our exploration.

As we meander through the fields, you'll learn about the artisanal process of jimar, the traditional method for harvesting agave. Surrounded by the striking blue-green agave plants, you’ll gaze upon the majestic outline of the Tequila Volcano. This stunning backdrop is sure to leave you in awe!

After spending an hour in the agave fields, we will continue our journey to an artisanal distillery, where you will gain insight into the various stages involved in tequila production, from cooking the agave hearts to the double distillation method. It’s intriguing to note that tequila is only produced in certain designated regions of Mexico.

Next, we will arrive in the vibrant town of Tequila after another hour of travel. Here, you will enjoy 2 hours of leisure time to wander through its colorful streets, browse specialized shops showcasing an array of tequila brands, or savor local dishes at your own pace. Be sure to visit the Cleofas Mota Market!

In the afternoon, we will participate in a guided tour of La Rojeña, lasting 45 minutes. You’ll explore its historic premises, uncover its rich heritage, and conclude with a delightful tasting of its iconic tequilas. Raise a glass to centuries of craftsmanship!

Before we head back to Puerto Vallarta, you will have an additional hour to spend in Tequila. Finally, we will commence our return journey, concluding the tour with drop-off at your hotel after a rewarding 12 hours.
