Upon arrival in Colonia del Sacramento, you will transfer to the ferry scheduled to depart at 8:30 pm, which will whisk you away to the port of Buenos Aires in just over an hour.

Round Trip Options

When making your reservation, you'll have the choice of selecting the round-trip option for your convenience. The return ticket is valid for up to 90 days from the initial travel date.

Schedule Information

Below is the transport schedule for the summer season, applicable from December 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026:

Departure: The bus to Colonia del Sacramento departs from Punta del Este at 8:15 pm. Upon arrival, staff will assist you in locating the ferry to Buenos Aires, with an expected delivery at approximately 2:15 am.
Return: The ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia del Sacramento leaves at 8 am. Following your arrival, staff will guide you to the bus heading back to Punta del Este, which is scheduled to reach its destination by 2 pm.

It is important to note that the scheduled times for ferries and buses are fixed, and cannot be altered.

Important information

Please redeem your voucher two hours before the scheduled departure time at the following address in Punta del Este: Terminal de Punta del Este Bvar. Artigas y La Angostura.

It's also mandatory to carry a valid passport or any other necessary documentation (depending on your nationality) and to have valid travel insurance covering medical expenses to enter Uruguay and Argentina, as well as a reservation number.

In case you do not have travel insurance, the Immigration Department may prevent you from entering the country.

Colonia Express will not be held responsible if you fail to bring the necessary travel documents such as your passport, ID, or visa for entry into the country if you require one. The passenger will be responsible for this.

The return ticket can be used up to 90 days after the departure date.

For the transfer, you can bring a backpack and a suitcase between 23 and 30 kg (50 to 66 lbs) per person.

Please note that the timetables and connections between boats and buses are predetermined; therefore, they cannot be modified.
