Excursion to Quebrada de Humahuaca

We will commence our journey between 10:15 am and 10:30 am with a convenient hotel pickup in Purmamarca, leaving behind the town's stunning vistas of the Hill of the Seven Colours. Our exploration will lead us to the Quebrada de Humahuaca, as we head towards Maimará, a quaint village resting at the base of the Paleta del Pintor, known as the "Painter's Palette," showcasing magnificent layers of colour in the rock formations.

Next, we will proceed to Uquía, where you will enjoy some free time to wander and experience the local surroundings. Be sure to visit the Church of San Francisco de Paula, celebrated for its striking artworks of the "Ángeles arcabuceros", depicting angels brandishing arquebus firearms.

After regrouping, we will make a brief stop at the Tropic of Capricorn, noted as the southernmost point where the sun can be directly overhead. Capture some memorable photographs by the markers commemorating this circle of latitude before we head toward Humahuaca.

This small city, the most extensive in the valley, lends its name to the Quebrada de Humahuaca. We will take a stroll through its historic centre, where you can admire significant landmarks like the Heroes of the Independence Monument and the Tower of Santa Barbara. Following this, you will have an hour of free time to enjoy lunch (not included).

After your meal, we will begin our return trip to Purmamarca, with an expected arrival time around 4 pm.
