Excursion to Yavi and La Quiaca

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Purmamarca at 9 am, where we will head towards the northernmost region of Argentina via the National Route 9.

As we traverse the stunning landscapes of the Argentinean Puna, we will arrive at the quaint town of Yavi. Here, a guided tour awaits you in the historic center, featuring the elegant House of the Marquis of Tojo, a traditional water mill, and the captivating San Francisco de Asis Church. Within this church, you will have the chance to admire its remarkable gold-laminated altar, a true gem of local sacred art.

At the conclusion of our exploration in Yavi, we will ascend the Cerro de los Ocho Hermanos (Hill of Eight Brothers) for stunning panoramic views over the town and the adjacent Laguna Colorada. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the breathtaking scenery!

Next, we will proceed to La Quiaca, a border town that connects Argentina to Bolivia. Together, we will venture across sections of the International Bridge of Villazón on the Argentine side, while learning about the historical ties between these two South American countries.

You will have an hour to enjoy lunch in La Quiaca (not included), presenting a wonderful chance to savor both Argentine and Bolivian dishes! Following your meal, we will make our way back to your hotel in Purmamarca, arriving around 6 pm.
